Having a pool in your backyard is wonderful. Pools are a great way to stay cool when the heat gets sweltering, and they are a great place to have fun with family and friends. But when the sun gets to be too much, who really wants to go back into the house and take a break away from the activity? Not you, surely, and this can lead to unfortunate over exposure to the sun.
Stay Safe
Enjoy your pool and stay healthy by following a few rules:
• Don’t burn. A good sunscreen is the best way to prevent getting burned, so be sure to apply liberally and reapply at least every 2 hours, especially when you are in the pool.
• Water! Keep yourself hydrated by drinking water as often as possible through the day.
• Get shady. Seek shade often. As wonderful as the sun can feel, especially after a long winter, too much sun can cause dizziness, headache, and fatigue.
As long as you take some shade breaks, you’ll be just fine. Remember that the intensity of the sun peaks between 10 am and 3 pm, so make sure that you hop out of the pool into the shade for short periods throughout the day, especially during this time.
Don’t Miss Out
But who wants to drag their wet and pool-infused body back into the house to get shade? You could walk up to the patio, if you have a covered one, and sit there. Then you get away from the action and feel left out from what your friends are doing. Creative Pool Designs is a pool company in Houston that has a way to keep you well-shaded and still be a part of the action. In order to keep the party going and still stay safe, a palapa is the perfect addition to your pool area.
Palapas are the thatch-roofed huts that are popular in tropical island vacation spots. You can relax in the shade, drink in hand, keeping cool and remaining close to the pool. Not only does a palapa give you the shade you need, it also turns your pool and landscape into a tropical paradise. We’re a pool company in Houston that has a lot of experience not only building pools, but doing whatever we can to turn them into a private oasis that a family can enjoy for years.
Anytime
We can build your palapa while we build your pool, during your remodel, or at any time when you feel that you are ready for the addition. We’ll look at the landscape and let you know exactly what your pool area can handle. So sit back and relax, and you’ll be made in the shade in no time.
